Kent A. Gaertner was installed as the 130th DuPage County Bar Association President. The Honorable John H. Squires, United States Bankruptcy Judge, delivered the keynote address to over 250 members and guest attending the installation dinner for Mr. Gaertner held at the Abbington in Glen Ellyn.
Kent Gaertner is a partner in the law firm of Springer Brown Covey Gaertner and Davis, LLC.
Mr. Gaertner has practiced bankruptcy law for over 25 years He represents clients in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and in non-bankruptcy workouts and reorganizations. His clients include both consumers and businesses, debtors as well as creditors. He is experienced in all facets of bankruptcy litigation having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in lawsuits arising out of the bankruptcy process. Several of the cases in which he has represented litigants have been chosen for publication by the Bankruptcy Court.
Mr. Gaertner also handles the firm’s real estate practice. He has assisted clients and bankruptcy trustees in both the sale and acquisition of all types of real estate, residential and commercial.
Mr. Gaertner serves as general corporate counsel for a number of small and medium size businesses. He has served on various boards for community organizations including President, Westmont Kiwanis Club, Council, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard, Illinois, Nation Chief, Lombard YMCA Indian Guides, and Director, Chicago Central Suburban Men’s Senior Baseball League. Since his retirement from the baseball field (after 40 years), Mr. Gaertner now pursues his passion for golf in his free time.

Professionally, Mr. Gaertner is extremely active in the DuPage County Bar Association. He is President Elect of the DuPage County Bar Association.
He has previously served the Association as a Director for five years and has served on the Audit Committee and the Executive Board. He helped establish the first Bankruptcy Committee for the Association and served on the twice as Chairman.
Mr. Gaertner is an elected Delegate to the Illinois State Bar Association Assembly from DuPage County.
He is a Title Agent for First American Title Insurance Company and a member of the Illinois Real Estate lawyers Association.
Mr. Gaertner is a regular contributor to “The Brief” magazine of the DuPage County Bar Association with articles on bankruptcy practice. He is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy topics at continuing legal education seminars for attorneys and has been selected as a moderator for bankruptcy related seminars given by the Illinois Institute For Continuing Legal Education.
